Thursday April 15, 2010: Tax Day and 6 days to go!

Yesterday was my pre-op with my hematologist where my platelet count had to be 75,000or more to go without a short course of prednisone beforehand. It was, as it was 86,000. He also was calling the hospital blood bank to make sure it would have platelets on hand for me the day of the surgery in case they were needed. So we're inching forward. Joints are still aching but not much longer!

Well, I hope ALL went well for you! Thanks so much for commenting on my blog.....Your sister had told me you sent the bigger picture, and I apologize for not thanking you, too---I didn't know your name then.
One of the things Susan said was that your Dad liked the Artistic side of the business better than the "business" side, but didn't get to do it that often. Well, he got to do it on this Album and he did a smashing job!
I t so WONDERFUL to have this picture---I thank you with all my heart!
I am writing Joyce Van Patten an email tonight so she can see this picture---I will be speaking to Betty in the next day or so--She is 91 years old, as of this past May 23rd. I just turned 79 in June and Joyce is 76.....All of the men are gone....It's just us three women STILL great friends, too! The "SPOON RIVER" experience cemented our friendshp forever.

Thanks for the reply! I was surprised to see it here, but I guess that's where Google says is my email addresss. I haven't updated my own blog since before my surgery but maybe I should! Surgery went well. My knee feels better, but I have a lingering scar tissue issue which will be addressed next month (hopefully)!

My father definitely did prefer the music over the business side, the main reason why he left Columbia Records/CBS in the spring of 1972. By then, I was old enough to know what he was doing at his job and why he was taking early retirement just as I was graduating from high school. He spent the rest of his life devoted to writing about music, which is what he really loved to do!

It's exciting that you're passing on the picture to the people who were in the picture! I hope they like it as much as you obviously have!

If you are 79, you were so young when that recording was made and have lived an interesting life since then! SOmehow time passes, our bodies sure get older, but our brains still think we're a lot younger. I'll be 56 in September and wish my father were still here to ask questions about his career (things I wasn't so interested in when I was younger).
